Low vitamin D may be a risk factor for noninfectious uveitis.

In this study, 558 patients with noninfectious uveitis and 2,790 age-matched controls were compared. Vitamin D levels were measured within 1 year of initial diagnosis. Individuals with adequate vitamin D (≥20 ng/mL) had 21% lower odds of uveitis than those with low levels (P=0.04). JAMA Ophthalmology, May 2018
