Clinical research suggests a thinning retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) may be associated with a greater risk of future cognitive decline.

Collaborative research, led by a team at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, London, UK, has shown a clear association between a thinner retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) and worse cognitive function in individuals without a neurodegenerative disease.
